"I had always wanted to have a doula and after meeting with a few, Emma came round and I knew that she was the right one, I felt comfortable with her straight away and we were on the same wavelength. Emma was really supportive throughout my pregnancy, giving us so much of her time and advice! She even attended our hypnobirthing course with us to further understand the birth that we wanted. Throughout labour, Emma was a tremendous support, cold flannels, clary sage and a hand I may have squeezed a little too hard during transition (sorry!). What I found really valuable was after Fyn was born, Emma was there to help with breastfeeding and with my bath, both invaluable. I think having a doula helped me cope with 35 hours of labour using only some gas and air at the end and I am happy to give a personal recommendation for Emma :) "

Emma supported us through all the pregnancy and proved invaluable in giving us a range of options. Emma was then able to come at very short notice to the hospital, despite our son arriving 3 weeks early and was very supportive during the labour. When there were complications following delivery, Emma was very helpful looking after all three of us and kept a nice record and took photos we would never have had otherwise. Emma also came and went through the whole story with us a few days after which was very welcome. We both agree that our first pregnancy and birth were helped enormously by having Emma as part of the team and we will certainly look at engaging her for any future babies!!

After an extremely traumatic and painful birth experience for my first child I thought that second time around I wanted to find a better way. I contacted Emma, and at our first meeting I immediately felt confident and positive about the delivery for the first time since becoming pregnant. Emma encouraged and supported me throughout my preparation for the birth, and even though I had only contacted her 6 weeks before my due date she completely changed my outlook and gave me the strength and confidence I needed. When I went into labour I was fully prepared and used the techniques we had practiced. Everything went so smoothly I was only in labour for 3 hours and our beautiful son was born 10mins after arriving at the hospital. I just wish I had known about the fantastic services that a doula can provide for my first child. I cannot recommend Emma highly enough!
